Wait for it…

In a week, I will be going to a sunflower festival at a cidar mill in St. Clare county. Yes there will be pictures but it will be in Italian. I need the practice and having my Italian friends correct my sentence structures.  I cannot wait to go and write this out!

Changing of the guards

Well I have been on infusions for over a year and I have decided to start doing autoinjectors (AI) at home.  This means no more driving to the medical center, hours during in a cramped room, getting loaded up on benedryl and T3, and being around sick people.  This AI will give me the freedom to do this at home set a time I chose. Plus if we go camping, I can take it with me and still go camping!

I am also dwindling down my meds. I talked my rheummy into cutting back the lyrica. It’s not doing anything for the pain and I wear my fabric AFO most of the day. It definitely helps with walking. Right now I’m only taking one lyrica for this week and then the following week, one every other day.  I have to wean off of this so I don’t have to take it.  Waste of money and time.

As for AI, I should hear from someone in a week.  I have four weeks to get things resolved before my body gets grumpy. My due date is June 27.

Here goes nothing!

Hair Change

2019-04-10 15.43.55

So I decided to go with the pink this summer.  I always do the same old purple or orange so there I am!  All clean and ready for Easter… not that anyone will notice or say anything.  Let’s see how long this color will last.  Usually the neon colors don’t last long but the product London Calling uses lasts a pretty long time.  My blue lasted almost a year!

Starting anew

I punched up the old Excel and started charting my measurements, again.  I did miss doing this when I was heavy into strength training and cardio.  Now that I have health issues and been out of practice, it will take a little more.  As always, I have to listen to my body and what it can do.  Today I did get my half mile walk but I also did a cardio class (online, low impact).  That felt great.  Plus I did some arm strength training, abs and yoga to cool down.  It all felt great to get back into it.  Putting on my weight gloves was euphoric! Why did I stop?  OH yeah….cancer treatments.

I am going to get this into a habit!  My picture for this month.  Next one will be in March.

Almost Christmas and the end of 2018

Well it’s time to play catch up as I normally do.  I wish I could write weekly but nothing really big happens in my life to write a blog.  Anyways, here’s a quick update….

First, one of my two banana plants died 😦  Very sad about that but the other is thriving as well in the house.  I have a plant light on him and it stays on pretty much the whole day and sometimes nights.  I did subscribe to a plant of a month thing and so far I have a Boston fern and a Golden Croton.  My jade plant died on me as well but my Kalenkoe (I think that’s the spelling) is thriving well.  I am surprised most of the sun plants are doing as well during this sunless and drab winter.  Of course my Norfolk Island Pine is doing fantastic!  He is looking forward to getting the lights off of him.  He thinks it makes him too girly!  He’s cute!  I cannot believe he’s two years old!  Plant feeding will start next month for all!  I think that’s all the plant news I have.  Oh and my Magnolia tree…. yeah she’s rockin’ it!  It’s cold outside and she still has some green leaves!  I see a few buds on her as well.  I know I will probably get some plant food for her but the experts say give a new plant a year to establish so she will be fed late summer so probably next Spring (2020) I will have flowers!  Yay!  Ok…. I think that is it!

I am still in the process of teaching myself Italian.  I have been doing free online teachings.  I am going to dive into reading and next month I want to join a group of all levels to start comprehension.  I tried those online sites where you can reach out to others but most use it as a dating site.  Even in my description I wrote not interested in dating, just talking and learning Italian.  It’s a slow process but I’m ok with that.  I know more than I think.  I use Memrise and when the speed memory comes up, I can nail them out.  I just lack the self confidence.  It’s kind of like when I was learning ASL and going to the functions.  If you make an effort, they (the foreign language person) will be thrilled!  Just difficult to find Italians to practice.  Plus I don’t drive so that kills it there.  I know there is Skype and other resources but I’m skeptical on people (especially after all those ‘learning language’ sites).  I’m not where I would like to be but I’ll get there.

The dogs and birds are still with us.  Jacob is 9 and Zeke is 6. I can see the gray in their faces but they still have their active moments.  I’m feeding Jake pumpkin for his digestive issues.  He wasn’t having good BMs so the vet suggested regular pumpkin.  I didn’t think he would go for it but he does like it.  I do that every other day.  The birds, Sammy (I think about 7 years old) and Cino (about 1) are still around.  I did have a female but she got out.  The boys are not as active since she has been gone.  I think after the holidays are done, I may get another female.  It’s nice to see them fly around the room and interacting.  But man are they loud!

I have been off of prednisone for almost a year (March 2018, last used) and have been getting infusions of Benlysta.  Somehow I got a hole in my left eardrum.  It did get infected, saw the ENT, cleared that up.  I really don’t want to do any patch up work especially since the infection is gone and I haven’t had any problem with it.  I do see the specialist in February and she will make a recommendation about surgery.  I told my rheummy about it and she told me if it isn’t bothering you, it really isn’t worth it.  But she told me to see what the specialist has to say. But no skin rash anywhere for a year and hoping it continues!

Here’s to hoping 2019 is better for my friends.  Janice and Kelli both lost their fathers this year.  It’s a blow to any girl at any age.  Dads are supposed to be immortal.

I think I caught up!  Next time will be in 2019!  WOW!  Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Well I have twins!

I wasn’t expecting this but I have twins!

I tonight I only bought one but apparently I have two! I watered them and will have to get soul and fertilizer this weekend. They are in my front widow for the moment.

As for names, I am not sure yet. I just want them to get acclimated for now. So super excited!
